Israeli strikes on mosque, school in Gaza kill dozens
At least 24 people were killed and nearly 100 more were wounded in Israeli strikes on a mosque and school in the Gaza strip. Palestinian officials say both locations were sheltering displaced people. The Israeli military claims it targeted Hamas militants that were using the Ibn Rushd School and Shuhada al-Aqsa Mosque in Deir al Balah as command-and-control centres. The deadly strikes come as the world prepares to mark the one-year anniversary of Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on Southern Israel, which prompted Israel’s incursion into Gaza.
